Performed in response to Annabel McCourt’s Electric Fence, Expectations is a site-specific performance, which took place during the 13th edition of the Dak’Art Biennale of Contemporary African Art as part the Laboratiore Agit’Art presentation ‘La Cloche des fourmis – The bell of the ants’.  

The performance reflected on the themes of the installation – namely personal and physical boundaries, sexuality and mortality, drawing upon experiences of those who continue to live under duress based on their gender, sexuality and race and those who have lost their lives to hate crime.
