Text reads: 'I’m old enough to have mastered the art of pretence’…'but you, you are young enough to use the eyes of your heart’.

The dress provides an entry point into the altering perceptions of a woman, as she gets older. Speaking to her younger self, she advises her to remain open because in time, layers of pretence may cloud her judgment.
